I. Movies/TV shows made during 8-track's heyday, roughly 1965-1980. Actual period pieces with 8-track sightings, like original episodes of "The Brady Bunch." Could also be futuristic films made during this time when it was conceivable that 8-tracks would still exist in the future.
II. Post-1980 Movies/TV shows set in the present or the future (e.g., a film released in 1995 set in 1995). This would include films such as Next of Kin with Patrick Swayze where the character's out-of-touchness is emphasized by the fact that he still listens to 8-tracks. Or the setting could even be in the future, with just an eight-track sighting for no good reason (like in the sci-fi thriller Strange Days).
III. Movies/TV shows that use 8-tracks to set a period. A current film set in an earlier time. Like Dazed and Confused, a film made in 1993 but set in 1976.
