I don't know how many 8-tracks were released of Lenny Bruce's comedy albums, but I'd love to find more. This one is killer, especially the bit that fills the entire first track: "Religions Inc." There's not enough space here to even begin to discuss Lenny here; I'll leave that to you and www.Altavista.com .
Lenny blazed the modern day stand-up comic trail, influencing all that came after him. He was the one who defied conventions, the law, and the system, and was taken down by it all in the end. Lenny changed the whole ballgame talking openly about sex and other taboo subjects. In August of 1966, with his career and finances in tatters, Lenny Bruce died of a heroin overdose at the age of 40. His life story became a movie starring Dustin Hoffman. His visionary work changed the world of comedy forever.
