Incidental Music from Lou Reed's

BERLIN

Lou Reed's Berlin

Berlin is one of those rare 8-tracks that features extra music not found on the vinyl or CD release. This was one way record companies attempted to fill all four tracks with music instead of leaving blank passages, fading out in the middle of a cut, or repeating songs. This 58 seconds of uncredited music appears on Track One between the songs "Berlin" and "Lady Day." It's a nice little synthesizer/piano dittie that's a perfect segue between the songs and found only on the 8-track release of Berlin.

Jeff Economy on Berlin, from So Wrong They're Right:
"Berlin...I got it and of course was depressed for about a month in high school . . . I just walked around with this shattered look on my face all the time. And of course it was on the endless loop so you could get depressed all over again..."
