It is about half the size of a cart, and it basically works by wetting down the pads on the end of the cleaner with the special cleaning solution (which is in a nifty bottle that sits inside the cleaner). You then move the handle back and forth to clean off the heads, while the capstan rotates against a nice soft piece of cloth. On the back is instructions for head alignment. All in all, very nifty!
