The Amazing Horse-o-Phonic 8-track System!

About 6 months ago I received  a series of e-mails from a gentleman in Italy who claimed to have developed an 8-track system for use on his horse! Well, he eventually sent photos to prove his claim, along with some technical data on how it all works. Check it out!

Hi, I've taken a photo of the horsephonic mounted, note that there's no saddle as I've sold it to a friend 4 years ago, so the components are not very well positioned and the breeching behind the haunches is a bit too low, however, I've turned the thing on and played one program while I was posing. The antenna is actually non functional in this photo, and I've used it only two times when I used the FM tuner cartridge (that now is disassembled in a tin can due to a tuning cord breakage) However, here you can see what the horsephonic looked when I walked through small towns and countryside with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston, Christie and other similar cool tapes playing loud    The Horse-0-Phonic in action
The Horse-0-Phonic systemHere's the system, off the horse:

The small white box you see on the left of the player is a tape recorder 12v nicd battery, I keep it in my coat in winter for keep it warm, it doubles it's energy!, now I'm lacing it under the player.

Take a good look at the 6" speaker in the box, it's an early 70s Faital (Italian) fullrange speaker, these speakers were cheap and very popular (radios, stereos, color TVs etc...) but you can hardly find a better low power speaker, and it's the ultimate for 8 track sound, with deep, mellow, crisp sound and it's very efficient and loud too, so, if you have the chance of having a pair, don't let 'em run away!
