DIAL-A-STORY

Dial-A-Story. What a cool idea. This 110 Volt playback machine is self contained with a mono speaker and built in amplifier. It does have an auto shut-off feature to keep the tape cued up for the next time you want to hear that story.

More info from "Mike" MWCPC5@aol.com -- : I have eight of these, two of which can record and the rest are for playback only. They were not a child's toy; rather they were used in museums and  promotional advertising displays to give a recorded description. While they use the 8-track cartridge, the heads are for the two track tape  format. I think that one track could be used to control a slide projector or  other accessory but I haven't checked into that.
